How Painless Dentistry Works
Before receiving any anesthetic, you will learn that by simply raising your hand at any time, Dr. Wasik will immediately stop what he's doing and talk to you. This applies to your entire appointment and ensures that you are always in control.
To begin, a strong topical agent will be applied to numb the surface of your mouth. The anesthetic that you will receive is then warmed up to body temperature, making it very comfortable to accept. An acupressure point responsible for an anesthetic effect is then pressed at the same time the dental freezing is given. The end result is a comfortable and painless dental experience for the duration of your appointment.
Dr. Wasik approaches his painless dentistry with "intention to heal", a technique taken from ancient Chinese medical philosophy. This will help you feel even more relaxed and comforted throughout your appointment.
