What is Eco-Friendly Dentistry?

At Ambiance Dental, we take an active role in caring for the environment, as well as our patients. We practice eco-friendly dentistry, which encourages sustainable practices, a reduction in consumption and waste, and the improvement of our patients’ health by reducing chemical use and radiation in our clinic.

How we are making a difference:

• Our fully computerized office does not require paper charts and minimizes our use of paper overall
• Our digital x-rays reduce radiation by 90%
• Digital x-ray processing doesn’t require chemicals
• We don’t use mercury fillings, but will remove them for clients and replace them with other biocompatible materials
• Mercury from old fillings is filtered and disposed of by a biohazard company
• We use OPTIM cleaners for surface disinfection, which are biodegradable and produce only water and oxygen as by-products
• Our sterilization process is environmentally friendly and uses only steam
• Smart choices have been made for energy efficiency throughout the office
• We follow good recycling practices and use a blue box for all recyclable materials

Being eco-friendly doesn’t stop at our clinic; we also encourage clients to consider the environment in caring for their teeth. For instance, running the tap while brushing your teeth can waste up to 90 glasses of water each day!
